With summer just around the corner, I want to take a moment to reflect back on the early months of 2019 and share some exciting updates on Project 4031.

In the first three months of 2019, we served 19 patients and their families, providing a total of over $16,000 in value through our Funding for Families and Fulfilling Dreams service areas. From requests for assistance with housing, utilities and groceries, to dreams of travel to New York City and attending a Texas Rangers game…we strengthened the unique end of life story of each of these patients. All of this would not be possible without the generous support of our donors, volunteers and community partners. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of terminally ill children and adults.

In January we partnered with three other non-profit organizations to pack a FULL 40-foot shipping container with medical supplies, equipment and even a vehicle to send to Belize. The Belize Hospice Palliative Care Foundation will get these critical supplies in the hands of hospice patients in one of the poorest nations on Earth. Our Fueling International Outreach service area aims to take supplies and equipment, that would normally go unused, and get them to patients who do not have regular access.

In early April we were offered the opportunity to share the mission of Project 4031 on CBS’s Plugged In To DFW. You can find the four video segments here. What an incredible opportunity for our organization to connect with thousands of individuals across North Texas.

In April we also hosted the 5th Annual Project 4031 Golf Classic! 50+ golfers joined us on an absolutely beautiful day at Mira Vista Country Club and raised over $20,000 to support the work of Project 4031. Thank you to our sponsors, golfers and volunteers for your work to strengthen end of life stories.

Through the generous support of our donors, Project 4031 will continue to pursue new, innovative ways to better serve terminally ill patients and their families. We have faith that our service brings peace, comfort and light to families experiencing their darkest days.

“If we love such moments ferociously, then maybe we can learn to live well – not in spite of death, but because of it.”

– Dr. BJ Miller, Jr.
