Project 4031’s Mission
Our mission is to provide terminally ill children, adults, and their families facing end-of-life challenges with peace and comfort by easing financial burdens and fulfilling last dreams.
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.”

About Project 4031
Project 4031 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that offers no-cost services to terminally ill children and adults to strengthen their end-of-life stories. We provide assistance by helping struggling families meet basic needs through financial support and fulfilling last dreams. Our goal is to provide a better quality of life and allow someone to end life well. Located in Fort Worth, Texas, Project 4031 only serves those living in North Texas.
Project 4031’s story began with a heart and vision to strengthen the end-of-life journey for terminally ill children and adults and their families. Across the United States and around the world, many people do not experience their end-of-life story to the fullest. It is our goal to make this journey gratifying and as comfortable as possible through our services areas: Funding for Families and Fulfilling Dreams. We believe this is not our work, but the work of the One above. Project 4031 is committed to being a good steward of the resources given and fervently serve the needs of terminally ill children and adults.
History
Being part of the greater plan.
Growing up in a home of healthcare providers, Josh Robertson was drawn to helping people. In High School he actually lived onsite of a small assisted living facility his parents operated. During that time, some of his fondest memories were spending time with the residents on the front porch listening to their stories. These experiences lit a fire to start a hospice focused medical equipment business shortly after college graduation. Focusing on an underserved market to ensure terminally ill children and adults received the quality care they deserved was amazing; however, it also sparked a lot of conversation with his wife Kristina Robertson who had experienced personal loss with close family members and could relate to the care that is so important at the end of life.
During a delivery it was common to hear about final wishes or issues a family was experiencing. Kristina and Josh would share these stories they were hearing and the pattern that was developing. Overtime, action took over ideas and gentle nudges turned to outcomes.
Project 4031 was officially launched in 2011 to provide terminally ill children, adults, and their families facing end-of-life challenges with peace and comfort by easing financial burdens and fulfilling their last dreams. Since inception, Project 4031 has directly served over 900 patients within the states and countless others overseas. It has been such an incredible experience to see conversations morph into a dream which now has been a reality over the last nine years of serving this beautiful and vulnerable population throughout our community. The Robertson family started Project 4031 to bring joy, strength, and stability to terminally ill patients and their families and our core values still guide us.
The journey is just beginning. Project 4031’s growing board of directors, team members led by Kristina, countless volunteers and community supporters are inspiring new ways to serve. New ideas are taking shape to expand our reach so together we can bring love, joy, and stability to these incredible families.

Kristina C. Robertson
Co-Founder | Executive Director
Kristina Robertson has a passion for making a positive difference in her community. With a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Texas Tech University, she taught kindergarten for four years with Fort Worth ISD. Kristina knew something was leaning her towards a new career path when Co-Founder and husband Joshua Robertson started a Hospice Focus DME company. This new adventure sparked a lot of conversation between the two. This resonated with Kristina, who had experienced personal loss with close family members and could relate to the care that is so important at the end of life. After a year of research and in 2011 receiving Project 4031 501(c)(3) status, Kristina took Project 4031 as her new career path. Their hope: to make a difference in the lives of terminally ill children and adults. Kristina feels honored to be a part of Project 4031, serving families during a critical and sensitive time in their lives and strengthening each patient’s end of life story. Kristina transitioned into the Executive Director position in 2019 and feels honored to lead the organization into the future.
She has been a part of it all since inception, experiencing growth and knowing the inner workings. Her passion is to serve patients, and her dedication to learning equips her to fit well into this new position.
Kristina has a passion for volunteering and giving back; she has been a part of Fort Worth Junior league since 2011, the All Aboard program through Junior League, Leadership Fort Worth, and volunteers at her children’s school. Josh and Kristina have three boys, and when not working at Project 4031, she spends quality time with her family and friends.
Nicole Herlin
Program Director
We are proud to have our new Program Director, Nicole Herlin, join us in 2021. Nicole’s professional life has always been about working with and helping others. After graduating from TCU, Nicole made Fort Worth her home. In the early years of her career, Nicole taught high school, working with children and their families at Castleberry High School and Nolan Catholic High School in Fort Worth. After nine years of teaching, she left her teaching job to stay at home with her young children.
After many years of diapers, storytimes, and coordinating classroom parties, Nicole reentered the workforce in 2015 when she accepted the position as the Director of Religious Education at a local church. Her experience of working at the church allowed her the opportunity to serve people, young and old, from diverse backgrounds, in all the most beautiful and most challenging moments of their lives.
In 2021, Nicole felt the pull; God was calling her in a new direction. When she discovered Project 4031 and learned about its mission to walk with people and offer comfort for the end of life, she knew this was the new direction she was called to follow.
Nicole and her husband Houston have three children, all teenagers now, who fill their lives with activity, adventure and love. Nicole is thankful to have both a home life and a work life at Project 4031 that are filled with joy and purpose.
Jazmine Velasquez
Development Manager
Jazmine has always had a strong passion for helping others and stepping outside of her comfort zone. At the age of 18, Jazmine enlisted in the active-duty Air Force and worked as an F-22 Crew Chief all around the world for 5 years. With her contract coming to an end, she decided to make the move back home to Texas and enroll in Texas Christian University, where she could pursue her goals of becoming a non-profit leader and owning her own organization one day! She is currently in her senior year majoring in Political Science and minoring in Sociology. In her free time, Jazmine is a member of multiple campus organizations such as Model United Nations and Moot Court.
Transitioning from the military back into the civilian world left her with a space in her heart to continue serving others and using her time to make a difference in other people’s lives. This led her to Project 4031. After learning about the organization and its mission, she decided this is how she wanted to serve others in this new chapter of her life. She is looking forward to joining the impact this extraordinary group of women will undoubtedly have on the community and is so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the team.
Lora Snyder
Volunteer Coordinator
Lora Snyder started as the Volunteer Coordinator in 2024 after volunteering with Project 4031. Lora moved to Texas from Missouri in 2022 after retiring. In a true leap of faith, she chose Ft. Worth because her former pastor lives here. She did not have a clear plan for what would come next, but she opened her heart to the direction God would choose for her. Raised with a strong sense of volunteerism instilled by her father who was a principal of a school for students with special needs, Lora explored different volunteer opportunities in her new hometown. A conversation with a Project 4031 board member at her church introduced her to the organization. Although end-of-life care was outside of her comfort zone, Lora does like to be a part of her community, investing her time and energy and seeing the impact her involvement can have, so she decided to volunteer with the Wings program. At Project 4031 she felt the goodness of God as she worked alongside the other Wings volunteers. She saw the heart of the organization in action, the genuine care, kindness, love, and respect for others expressed through the work of the volunteers. When the position of Volunteer Coordinator opened, Lora sought God’s guidance and direction and accepted the job. She is honored and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the wonderful staff and volunteers of Project 4031.
