Marwa’s Story

Funding for Families

Marwa was a young mother of three battling cancer for over a year when she was introduced to Project 4031 by her hospice social worker. Due to her diagnosis, she was no longer able to work, and her family was struggling financially. Thankfully her mother moved in with the family to help care for Marwa so her husband could continue working to provide for the family. However, with the shift in losing Marwa’s income, their total household income was greatly reduced and her mother was trying to look for work as well to assist with covering their monthly household bills.
Marwa’s husband was also doing all he could to work overtime to help make ends meet and ensure they didn’t get behind. As many families face the daily struggles a cancer diagnosis brings, Marwa’s family was experiencing financial hardships due to the cost of her care over time as well as a reduction in income, which increased their stress and worry during this difficult time. Project 4031 assisted by relieving some of the burden and covering the family’s mortgage for one month, which allowed them to focus more on Marwa’s care and gave them some much-needed breathing room.
“Thank you very much for your help. Your organization is really helpful and I really appreciate your support. I don’t know what to say except, God bless you. Thank you!”
– Mahmoud, Marwa’s Husband and Funding for Families Recipient
