North Texas Giving Tuesday Now was a great success thanks to our amazing supporters, proving our greatest asset in this unprecedented time is truly each other! Thank you for being a part of this movement.

North Texas Giving Day is annually hosted in September and is the largest community-wide giving event in the nation. This day of giving continues to get bigger and better with year over year growth for the last ten years. As you might expect, many nonprofits have been impacted in many ways by the global pandemic, including experiencing an increase in demand for critical services. To support these organizations and the individuals who desperately need their help right now the International Giving Tuesday Now campaign, Communities Foundation of Texas’ North Texas Giving Day, the Dallas Cowboys, and the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas came together to give back to our community.

As an emergency response day of giving for 18 hours on May 5th, North Texas Giving Tuesday Now was hosted online to encourage donor support for nonprofits impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This collaborative effort was an incredible testament to how resilient North Texas is and how this global crisis won’t stop our community’s kindness and generosity. This one-day event raised over $20.7 million for over 2,500 nonprofit organizations!

During these tough times, many families are reeling from the devastating effects of COVID-19 and our future remains unpredictable as our economy begins its reopening phases. The pressure and strain many are facing creates uncertainty in how families will make ends meet. Project 4031’s families encounter these same struggles as they strive to provide the best end-of-life care for their loved one. Coping with the emotional and financial turmoil following a terminal diagnosis, many families who were already struggling before the pandemic can no longer cover their monthly expenses. The support Project 4031 provides through the funds raised is vital for helping families meet basic needs like housing, utilities, or groceries and enables them to focus on quality time with their loved ones.

We know these are trying times for everyone, so we are incredibly thankful for your continued support of our efforts to strengthen end of life stories. This amazing day of philanthropy filled our hearts with so much gratitude and hope for our mission! Thank you for standing with us to make an IMPACT!

It was glory to see relief in their eyes to know we had nothing to worry about for this month other than to stay home and stay safe. It feels good to know that there are people and foundations out there that haven’t forgotten about [people on hospice], simply because we are already dying… [Hospice patients] already have enough going on in our lives knowing we are dying and leaving loved ones behind to suffer and carry on with the financial burden left behind; add on top of that the stress of living check to check (disability checks barely cover a bill), still have everything else to pay, children to support, and not enough income.
