– The IMPACT Made in 2020 –

2020 was a difficult year for so many, especially our Project 4031 families. The changes to our daily lives and routines due to the COVID-19 pandemic were unimaginable and seemed unending as the year progressed. Can you imagine facing the end of life or being responsible for caring for your terminally ill loved one amidst the chaos of a global pandemic? Our families didn’t have to imagine it; they lived it and sadly, some died during it. The families Project 4031 served in 2020 were forced to experience even more hardships, emotionally and financially, during these uncertain times.

Project 4031 worked to adapt to better serve the needs of this vulnerable population. We modified our programs in different ways to serve our families and hospice and medical professional partners. Project 4031 provided over $10,000 in grocery gift cards, over 100 face masks, and over 30 care packages with essential items to local families in need. In 2020, 135 hospice and terminally ill patients and their families were served through our Funding for Families and Fulfilling Dreams programs, exceeding our annual projection by 44%. When many weren’t able to travel and forced to isolate to stay safe, a total of 16 dreams were fulfilled which brought much-needed comfort, joy, and peace during a difficult time. Through our Funding for Families program, 119 families received financial assistance, allowing them to breathe a sigh of relief and the ability to focus more on the time they had left with their loved one.

Despite an increased demand and greater need for services in 2020, Project 4031 had to change plans regarding our largest annual fundraiser. As with many other nonprofits, Project 4031 had a hard conversation about how to move forward with special events and the best method to continue fundraising in a completely different way. To ensure our supporters’ safety, we had to pivot and host a virtual event rather than gathering in person. We asked our community to join us virtually for IMPACT 2020 and were blown away with how people attended online and took part in our program and auction.

Thanks to your big hearts and belief in our mission, over $105,000 was raised, ensuring our services remain available during these unprecedented times. We are so grateful to everyone that made this event possible and helped us exceed our goal! You helped make an IMPACT and ensured our families were supported through this crisis when it counts the most!

10-year Anniversary

As we anticipate what this new year may hold, we are hopeful for a brighter future. In 2021, Project 4031 will celebrate our 10-year anniversary! Thanks to YOU, since inception, we have made an IMPACT in the lives of 683 individuals and their families stateside and countless others overseas! We are so fortunate to have a strong community of believers in our mission and look forward to a wonderful year ahead in which we can continue growing and strengthening even more end-of-life stories.
